A MAN and his friends narrowly escaped serious injury after a firebomb was thrown through the window of his house in Longford.

The 29-year-old victim and his three friends were inside his home on Gough Avenue when what fire investigators believe to be an ignited accelerant was launched through one of the ground floor windows at around 3.30am on Sunday.

Emergency services were called and the occupant and his friends escaped unhurt.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the arson attack or anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to call DC Neil Fleming of Warrignton CID on 0845 4580000 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
