Stars come out for Croft Carnival

THE annual Croft Carnival proved a big success in the village on Saturday.

The procession, which includes floats, bands and walking groups, was the highlight and preceeded the crowning of the carnival queens on the Croft playing fields in the afternoon.

Along the route were scarecrows dressed in this year’s theme for the carnival of Hollywood.

Mayor Clr Brian Axcell was on hand during the day to help with the event.

On the field there was fancy dress contests, Jez Avery’s mountain bike stunt show, Yuri and Tonya’s circus skills workshop, Rosemary Powell’s school of dance, morris men, silver band, pipe band, jazz band and miniature steam rides.
