Charity fun day’s positive message

THE crowds came out in force in aid of the John Holt Cancer Support Foundation at the weekend.

The fun day, at Walton Gardens, raised around £2,000 for the cancer charity, which worked with Marks and Spencer as its charity of the year.

Attractions including a Punch and Judy show, Second World War Jeep and Warrington south police cars for children to look around made the day the success it was.

Insp Gary McIntyre, recently appointed at Warrington south police, attended the event to meet residents.

“Kids were coming up and speaking to us and pressing the sirens. They really enjoyed it. It is a really positive message. We are so involved in the community and we are really focused on doing things such as this.”
