AFTER 10 years acting as one half of Hollyoaks’ most famous twosome, Darren Jeffries is ready for what the future brings.

Darren, who played OB in the popular Channel 4 soap, is still working with co-star Matt Littler, who played Max, and the pair are preparing to launch their new Rock FM show in the new year.

The pair left Hollyoaks in March after Max was killed off in a car accident on his wedding day.

Since then they have been trying their hand at TV presenting, compering the V Festival, presenting a Radio City show and starring in a huge recruitment campaign for the RAF.

A well earned break is on its way over Christmas and Darren is returning to his family home in Cinnamon Brow for the festive season.

It was at Cinnamon Brow Primary School that he realised he had a passion for acting, after starring in a version of Wind in the Willows aged 10.

“I really enjoyed that,” he said.

“That must have given me the acting bug because then at Padgate High I took part in the school plays every year.”

After being signed to an agent following a play at the Parr Hall, Darren landed the part of OB in Hollyoaks at the age of 15.

He juggled acting with school and then college before joining the cast full time and becoming one of the show’s most popular characters.

Viewers, enamoured with the friendship between Max and OB, tuned in in their droves to bid farewell to the pair and their popularity has left the two in constant demand.

“We left with the idea of carrying on acting but received a lot of interest regarding presenting work.

“We thought it would be silly not to follow it up and since then, we’ve been working non-stop,” added Darren.

Their agent, Money North, has been working hard to ensure the pair get work as a double act, he said.

Darren now lives in London after moving from Warrington in the summer.
