Sex charge teacher had "liaison alibi" - court hears

5:16pm Monday 24th November 2008

A TEACHER, accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old pupil, was at his mum’s house when one of their liaisons was meant to have happened, she told the court today.

Patricia Little, whose eldest son is defendant Mark Little, aged 28, from Secker Avenue in Latchford, had made a note in her diary to say Mark would, and did, visit her on October 5 last year.

That is the date he is alleged to have engaged in sexual activity with the girl at his home.

Mrs Little told Chester Crown Court that her son was at her home from 10.30am to 2.40pm.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has earlier told the court she was taken to what she believed was Little’s friend’s home at around 2.30pm.

The court also heard that the pair had been in contact through MSN Messenger and myspace during early November, but Little’s barrister, Mark George, said he had only been in contact with her on November 7.

Yet police computer experts found files relating to July 29, October 2, November 5 and November 6 last year.

There were also photographs of the girl on Little’s computer dating from July 24 and September 30.

Little denies 12 charges of sexual activity with a child under 16 between May and October of last year.

The trial continues.
