Coronation Street's Ken backs our toy campaign

CORONATION Street favourite William Roache gave his support to the Give with the Guardian Christmas Toy Appeal.

The Warrington Guardian has teamed up with Big Storage to appeal for toys which will be sent to charities in the area.

Mr Roache said: “Christmas is a happy time for most children, but unhappy for those who are not so fortunate.

“I think it is absolutely wondeful that the focus is on making Christmas happier for so many deserving children and teenagers in the local community.”

The recipients of the appeal will include children aged up to 16 so the appeal is looking not just for toys but also for cosmetics and toiletries.

Andrew Donaldson, from BiG Storage, said: “Now that the Give with the Guardian Toy Appeal is under way, we have been receiving calls from members of the public all wanting to extend their generous spirit by helping kids who are less fortunate than their own - which is music to our ears.”

BiG Storage, on Manchester Road, Woolston, will be the main drop-off point.

Located on the A57 by Subway, just look out for the sign.

Toys can be dropped off between 8am and 6pm, Mondays to Fridays, and between 9am and 5pm, on Saturdays or 10am until 4pm, on Sundays.

Ask for Sean, James or Freya on 812700.
