Identity of dead motorcyclist revealed

Comments (0)POLICE have revealed the identity of the motorcyclist who was killed when his bike collided with a bus in Collins Green.
Ian Mclaughlin, aged 31, from Haydock was pronounced dead at the scene after he was involved in a crash with a single decker Arriva bus travelling along Pennington Lane towards St Helens at 4.45pm on Sunday, July 13.
Mr Mclaughlin had been travelling in the opposite direction towards Earlestown.
The male bus driver was taken to Whiston Hospital and treated for shock and minor injuries.
A passenger on the bus was also treated for minor injuries.
An inquest into Mr Mclaughlin’s death has been opened but a date for the hearing has not yet been confirmed.
