Walking wonders

TWO nurses are encouraging others to take part in a walk around Lymm to raise vital money for charity.
Carol Harrison and Jean Beddal, both Macmillan specialist palliative care nurses based at Grappenhall Clinic, know first-hand the good work the money will help fund.
And they want as many people as possible to take part in either the 3.5mile or 10mile walk around Lymm's Heritage Trail and the Transpennine Trail on Sunday, May 11.
Carol said: "Being a Macmillan nurse within the local community is so essential and important to lots of people affected by cancer.
"Local support is vital to the fundraising team who need to raise the money that provides the vital services like mine to those who really need it and what a fantastic way to raise it?
"The trail is lovely to walk, and so much fun. I hope to see lots of walkers wearing those green t-shirts and raising money for Macmillan!"
The walk takes in the village of Lymm, the trail, Lymm Dam as well as Slitten Gorge and the Bridgewater Canal.
Aimee Scally, community fundraiser for Warrington said: "Money raised from Walk Wonders goes towards helping Macmillan provide practical, medical, emotional and financial help for people affected by cancer.
"Last year the walk raised more than £10,000 and this year we want to make it even bigger and better."
