AN MRI and CT scan is set to show Ethan Connolly's doctors what the next step in his treatment should be.
The scans were done last Friday and the results will help doctors plot the three-year-old's course of operations.
"He's got a cyst by his voice box and Alder Hey doesn't have a laser that will reach it, so if they decide that's next we will be going to Berlin," said Ethan's mum, Karen Bell.
"If they decide to operate round his eye we will be going to New York," she said.
"It's all really waiting for the doctor's decision."
On Friday Ethan will be back in hospital to have an operation on his tracheotomy after it ruptured last Wednesday.
Ethan has a lymphatic disorder that causes cysts to grow on his face and body.
The Ethan's Journey campaign has already raised nearly £60,000 to help pay for his treatment.
