GET your light-sabres at the ready for an invasion of the Darth kind in Warrington this month.
But fear not, for the man behind the legendary Star Wars villain Darth Vader's mask will only be in the town to do good.
Dave Prowse, who played the villain of George Lucas's original trilogy, will be a guest speaker at a glittering charity dinner at the Village Hotel on Wednesday, January 30, to help raise money for Walkoncemore, a spinal injury charity.
The event has been organised by James McKune from Callands who was paralysed from the chest down after a motorcycle accident in the summer of 2006.
The 32-year-old has since gone on to raise money for the charity, which is close to his heart.
He said: "I believe that a cure will only ever be found for spinal cord injuries if we fight and work to fund the scientists and their research through events such as this.
"Prior to my accident I did not know anyone who had such injuries, but they are now happening so much more frequently, and are touching the lives of so many people, directly and indirectly through family and friends."
Football fans will also be in for a treat at the event with Wigan Athletic Football Club players David Cotterill and Andreas Granqvist attending. It will even be screened on Sky Sports.
Entertainment on the night will come from a Brat Pack-influenced singer and comedy will come from former Merseyside Comedian of the Year Gary Skyner.
There will be sporting memorabilia with goodies from sports clubs from across the region up for grabs and helping to raise money for the cause.
Tickets can be bought individually or by tables of eight and cost £30 per person and include a three-course meal and should be requested by January 24.
To book your tickets, contact James on 451730 or 07888 731738.
