ORGANISERS have changed the date of the annual St Rocco's Colour Bubble Fun Run so it doesn't clash with the Challenge Cup Final.

The event was scheduled for bank holiday Monday but has now been moved to a date at the end of September.

It will remain at Walton Hall.

A hospice spokesman said: "St Rocco’s is a charity very much committed to the community of Warrington.

"The bank holiday weekend is also a really big weekend for a fellow organisation close to the hearts of many Warrington people, Warrington Wolves, who will be playing in the Challenge Cup Final on Saturday, August 25.

"We know that many participants of the Colour Bubble Fun Run and many of our volunteers, without whom we couldn’t hold the event, will want to join in any celebrations that may occur in the town in the following days, should Warrington Wolves lift the Challenge Cup.

"We have therefore decided that we will revise the date for the Colour Bubble Fun Run to Sunday, September 23 at 3pm.

"We very much hope that everyone will still be able to join us for a fun-filled afternoon on that date."

All other details regarding the event remain the same.

Participants who may already have other plans for that date are being advised to contact the St Rocco’s fundraising team.

The hospice added: "We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we are grateful to everyone who has signed up to the Colour Bubble Fun Run and for raising funds to support our patients and families at such a difficult time in their lives.

"We really hope that everyone will be able to join us at Walton Hall and Gardens on the revised date.

"In the meantime we would also like to wish Warrington Wolves all the very best at Wembley in the Challenge Cup Final."
