MEMBERS of the 1330 Warrington squadron RAF cadets will be hosting an evening of celebration and commemoration for the anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The Battle of Britain saw 1542 aircrew killed, 422 wounded and 1744 aircrafts destroyed.

The commanding officer, flight lieutenant Alan Radcliffe, said: "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Warrington to come together as a community to commemorate and celebrate the sacrifices that our greater generation made."

The commemoration takes place in a special year for the RAF as it celebrates 100 years since its formation on April 1 1918.

The squadron encourages everyone to attend the event on Friday, September 7.

Tickets are £7 for adults and £5 for concessions and can be bought by emailing1330@aircadets.org
