A 17-YEAR-OLD boy charged in connection with a burglary in which a man was left with puncture wounds to his torso will face trial early next year.
The teenager, from Clifton, Manchester, has denied a charge of aggravated burglary in connection with the disturbance, which took place on Alder Street, Newton-le-Willows on the night of Monday, July 16.
A 54-year-old man was left with "serious injuries" after the incident, sustaining puncture wounds to his torso.
The teenager is accused of having entered a house on Alder Street as a trespasser with intent to steal while in possession of a screwdriver.
Appearing at Liverpool Crown Court this week (August 16), the teenager pleaded not guilty.
He will face a trial at the court with a start date earmarked for the week of Monday, January 16, 2019.
