THE penultimate set of students to complete their A-levels and BTECs at the Appleton College collected their results today, Thursday.
Queuing for the doors to open at 9am, eager students waited anxiously to see if they had achieved the grades needed to get into their first-choice university.

Tim Long, principal at the former Bridgewater High School Sixth Form, said: "The students have once again performed strongly in their exams this year.
"There were some exceptional individual achievements and I would like to congratulate all students on their success."
Sam Bealing achieved a clean sweep with four A*s to add to the two he already gained in year 10.
The maths superstar secured his place at Trinity College Cambridge which was no surprise to his proud teachers.
Sam is also a qualified football referee and enjoys playing at the weekend.
All students achieved an A or A* in French and further maths while 83 per cent of biology students achieved A* to B and 88 per cent of sociology students gained A* to B.
The performing arts faculty is still going strong with students Macy Fannon and Fin Bailey gaining two double distinctions each.
Ecstatic with their results, friends Isobel Bircumshaw and Arianna Nerici celebrated their places to study music and nursing respectively.
Theo Lambrianides, assistant head teacher at Appleton College, said: "I am so proud of this year group and what they have achieved.
"Ever since they joined the sixth form I have been impressed by their commitment and hard work.
"They have been a pleasure to work with and I am delighted that almost every student has achieved either a university place of their choice or secured other work related opportunities.
"On behalf of all of the staff here I wish every one of out students all the best in the future – I'm sure they will go from strength to strength."
