I REFER to Chris Walker’s letter (Warrington Guardian, August 9).

Mr Walker quite clearly misses the point I am making.

The inequality that residents in the south of Warrington (that is south of the Mersey) suffer from Warrington Borough Council is quite clear to see compared to the north of Warrington.

Where shall we start? Oh yes parking is a good one.

Why is it residents of Stockton Heath and Lymm have to pay to use council owned car parks at higher prices than anywhere else in the town?

Why is it residents of Stockton Heath would be required to pay for a parking permit annually while the residents of streets off Orford Lane and Battersby Lane get them for free if the scheme was implemented in Stockton Heath Where are the health and medical hubs built in the south of Warrington?

Yet you’ve got one built on Jubilee Park on Winwick Road and another to be built less than two miles away on Longshaw Street.

Isn’t this wasting money? When the site on Jubilee Park could service both areas.

Medical hub built in Sankey?

Money spent on new traffic schemes and lights on Winwick Road to no avail Money spent on refurbishing social housing stock that its tenants let fall into the same state they were in before.

Give me one example Mr Walker where public money has been invested in the south of Warrington in the same proportion to the north?

The only reason the south has lasted as long as it has and kept its standards is because the residents of south Warrington care and respect where they live and look after it.

No amount of money can replace their passion and pride in where they live.

And it should be duly rewarded with a fair balance of council tax revenue that is generated by WBC instead of spending it and wasting it all in the north of the town GARY BEBBINGTON Grappenhall
