STAFF at a town centre business got green-fingered to help regenerate Palmyra Square.

DATS, Technical and Design Engineering Specialists, based on Palmyra Square, volunteered their time for the gardening project.

Staff their time and skills to help Warrington Business Improvement District (BID) with the planting of shrubs and plants as part of regenerating the Palmyra Square area known as 'Warrington in Bloom'.

Tesco donated the plants and flowers, with Warrington Scouts and Kids Planet Nursery also helping out at various locations across town by making hanging baskets and planting flowers.

The team from DATS turned over the soil, tidied and brushed up the area before planting more than 50 shrubs and plants.

Lindsay Downard, marketing manager, said: "It’s been a real partnership project and DATS were proud to get involved.

"We were particularly keen to help as we are based on Palmyra Square and are pleased to see all the development work that has been going on recently to regenerate the area.

"It looks great and we’re pleased to help in any way that we can to make this an attractive area for businesses, bars and restaurants.

"Now we are able to look out of our office window and reap the rewards of our hard work."
