PLANS for extra homes at the controversial Hollies development in Hartford have been scaled down following consultation responses.
An initial outline planning application for 350 homes off School Lane was agreed in 2013, with a number of houses now completed.
In April 2017, developers Redrow lodged plans for 276 further homes, in a bid to make ‘efficient’ use of the site and keep the density from dipping too low.
Now, a revised masterplan is seeking full planning permission for 258 homes – a drop of 18 from last April’s plans.
A design and access statement accompanying plans said: “The scheme has evolved over the past 18 months in consultation with council officers on areas such as ecology and landscape.
“A number of units were removed to increase green areas within the proposed development footprint and benefit from the existing landscape features and also enhance them.”
The total number of potential homes at the Hartford site now stands at 608.
