BIRCHWOOD-based children’s charity Brainwave has received a donation of more than £3,000 from the Amazon fulfilment centre at Omega.

The centre contributed £1,000 to the charity and 16 Amazon team members, from Warrington, Bolton and Tilbury completed The Three Peaks Challenge to raise an additional £2,100 for the charity.

Brainwave helps children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence.

The charity aims to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of educational and physical therapies.

Speaking on the donation, site leader at Amazon Warrington Edmon Yohannes, said: "We are delighted to be offering this donation to such a wonderful charity.

"Brainwave has changed the lives of children across Warrington and the region, providing exceptional care and support and we are happy to lend a helping hand.

"We also want to congratulate the 16 Amazon team members who completed the challenge. They are an inspiration to us all.”

Rhodri Davies, from Brainwave, added: "On behalf of Brainwave, and the children and families we support, I would like to thank Amazon and the team who took part in the Three Peaks Challenge to raise vital funds in aid of our work.

"At Brainwave, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their true potential and we rely on the generosity of our supporters to enable us to continue to help children in the local community to achieve life changing goals.”

The donation forms part of the Amazon in the Community programme where the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
