A VOLUNTARY adoption agency has celebrated its 75th anniversary with a fun-filled party.

And to cap off celebrations, Nugent also hailed its 'Good' rating from its most recent Ofsted report earlier this year.

The party was held for for all their families, who have been supported by the Chain Lane-based agency.

Nugent has a long history in providing adoption services and became a Registered Adoption Agency in 1943.

Nugent said: “We are based in St Helens but our adopters come from all across the region.

“We have a dedicated team of social work staff who can guide prospective adopters through the process.

"Many people think they might be too old to adopt or that because they already have their own birth children that they would not be considered. This is not the case and all kinds of people can grow their family through adoption.

“We know that adoption can be challenging at times and we provide support to our families in lots of different ways.”
