HERE is a wonderful photograph of band The Zephyrs, regular performers in town during the 1960s.

Victor Davies, who runs the St Helens & Districts the Complete History Group on Facebook, shared the picture with the Star.

Victor said: "I think your readers may like this photo of The Zephyrs band.

"They played on most of the dances the young people went to in the early 60s, including George Street, The Co-op ,later Helena House, and The Plaza.

"They were probably the best musicians around at the time."

Victor added: "I sang a few times with them. Ray Malcolm was their singer and I had the pleasure of meeting Ray in The Black Bull Hotel on Knowsley Road at one of our events which we have on my group.

"On the right is Geoff Taggart with his white fender Stratocaster. I have not seen Geoff since the 1960s .

"I hope it brings back memories of the great days."
