“I’m over the moon for everybody, and for Steve Price (head coach) in his first year here. He has worked really hard and we’ve got a great team so I’m really pleased for him.

“I’m pleased for the fans as well, those who come every week and support us. We appreciate that, so this is for them.

“I’ll be in the shop tomorrow and hopefully we’ll get the ticket sales.

“It’s going to be interesting with Catalans getting there as well, to see what the availability is like. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of tickets for our fans.

“I’m hoping that the fans who don’t come every week will get behind us and they’ll support us.

“That’s what it’s about. It’s ok myself and Simon Moran (owner) putting investment in, but it’s important as well to have the investment from the fans. Come and support us, cherish this moment and enjoy it.”

Vice-chairman Steven Broomhead said: “We’re deliriously happy, so much so that I’ve lost my voice.

“The first 10 minutes was a good game but Leeds fell away.

“I’d just like to thank all the fans for their loyal support. There was a total wall of sound from The Wire and we march on now to Wembley.

“Steve Price and Andrew Henderson have done a fantastic job, motivating the squad. I think we made some shrewd acquisitions during the year and it’s great to see the Wire back.”
