A MAN has been banned from Warrington town centre after ignoring repeated warnings from the police and court about his behaviour.

Joseph Corcoran, of no fixed abode, was issued with a criminal behaviour order at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old was hauled before the court after he failed to abide by a series of supervision requirements after he was released from prison last month.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Corcoran has been causing issues in the town centre since he first showed up here in mid June 2017, with numerous incidents of theft, public order and drugs offences.

"PC Barber, from the town centre beat team, tried to put him on the right track by putting him in contact with support agencies but to no avail.

"He continued to be involved in incidents of theft and public order."

The court order will last for three years and, if he breaches any of the requirements, he could be arrested and sent to jail.

As well as the court order, Corcoran was sent to prison for 28 days for breaching a community order.
