A MUM has issued a plea for help after losing a keepsake for her late baby daughter during a shopping trip.

Claire Shaw’s daughter died in 2011 after being born prematurely, and she has kept a keyring with an imprint of her baby’s footprints ever since.

But Claire lost this keepsake while shopping at Marks and Spencer on Gemini Retail Park on Friday, July 13.

The 44-year-old visited the store at 11am, having also stopped at Ravenhead Retail Park in St Helens on the way.

Claire, formerly of Winwick and now living in Bickerstaffe, said: “I lost my daughter in 2011 after she was born prematurely.

“Since I lost her, I’ve had a keepsake with her footprint and a diamond on it with me – it’s not of any value at all, but it means an awful lot to me.

“My first stop was at Ravenhead Retail Park, because I needed a protective screen for work – I went from the car park, straight to the store and straight back out again.

“Then I went to the food hall to get sandwiches for a training session.

“I literally got out of the car, went into the food hall, used the loo and came back out again.”

Now Claire has issued an urgent plea to help her retrieve the keyring.

She added: “It’s irreplaceable – I don’t want any sympathy, I just really hope that somebody has picked it up.

“I’m really hoping I will find it somewhere silly, but I’ve searched my car and my driveway at home and I didn’t go anywhere else.

“I just hope that someone has spotted it – hopefully it will turn up.”
