APPLETON resident George Wilkinson is the new president of the Rotary Club of Warrington for 2018/19.
Mr Wilkinson intends to continue to embrace the club's motto 'service above self' and to further the role of Warrington Rotary by supporting both local and international projects.
One of his ambitions for the club, which meets every Monday evening at Warrington Sports Club on Walton Lea Road, is to raise funding to support a youth leadership exchange project with the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation for 24 leaders of a new generation from Warrington, Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.
George said: "I intend to use my year of office to further help both the local community and wider charitable causes by encouraging members and their friends to join me to take action in helping those in need by whatever it takes."
