TWO suspected thieves were arrested after a police chase through the town centre yesterday (Saturday).
A man and a woman suspected to have been involved in a theft of fragrance Yankee candles were spotted by officers.
A foot chase ensued, which involving numerous people including security staff from the Old Market Place, and the pair were detained.
Waiting officers in situ on Kendrick Street managed to catch a woman suspect and a man was later stopped after he carried on running.
The man and woman were arrested in connection with two alleged thefts; one from yesterday and one from Tuesday (July 10).
