Police use taser and spray to detain suspect in town centre
POLICE used a taser and captor incapacitant spray to detain a suspect in the town centre this morning (Saturday).
Officers received a report of a man alleged to have threatened his partner with a knife in Orford.
A suspect was traced close to the town centre and an arrest was made on Winwick Street after a foot chase and a struggle.
In the struggle a taser and captor incapacitant spray were used to help officers to complete the arrest.
The suspect is also alleged to have racially abused one of the arresting officers.
A man was arrested on suspicion of affray and racially aggravated public order.
