TICKET restrictions are being removed from train services today, Wednesday, in order to get football fans home in time for England’s World Cup semi-final clash with Croatia.
The Three Lions kick off at 7pm tonight, with commuters expected to rush home in order to catch the match.
And Virgin Trains has removed ticket restrictions on all of its services on the west coast route, including those from Warrington Bank Quay, to help them when they are coming home.
Off-peak tickets can be used on any of the company’s services out of London Euston, while advance tickets will be valid on other trains.
A Virgin Trains spokesman said: “We’re excited that football is coming home, and we want people to get home in time for tonight’s game – so we are lifting ticket restrictions on our services.”
