A MUM-OF-TWO who died suddenly nine-and-a-half years ago has had her life honoured by family and friends in an annual walk.

Dion Lewis was only 37 when she passed away from heart failure on January 17, 2009.

Her sons, Jenson and Hayden were aged five and two when she died and her husband Paul Lewis along with Dion's parents decided to organise a ten-mile walk in her memory.

The family, from Grappenhall, have made sure they organise the walk on the journey from Preston Brook Marina to The Ferry Tavern in Penketh every year, ever since.

Around 20 family members and close friends join in each year to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

This year marked the tenth walk the family have completed in memory of Dion.

Her sons Jenson, now aged 15 and Hayden, aged 12 now take part in the walk, along with a big group of their friends.

Dion's sister, Fiona Jensen, said: "It's a lovely way to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and also we find it very uplifting and a lovely way to keep Dion's memory alive.

"The walk makes us all, as a family, feel extremely emotional but also overwhelmed for the love and support shown to us.

"We miss her beyond words."

Fiona's daughters Charlotte, aged 10 and Annabel, aged 8 also took part in the walk, along with friends Jonny, Max and Erin.

Fiona gave birth to Annabel Dion just four months after Dion's tragic death.
