AN investigation into the alleged Islamophobia within the Conservative Party must be launched immediately, according to Warrington South MP Faisal Rashid.
The Muslim Council of Britain has urged the Tories to open an independent inquiry into the alleged discrimination.
Labour's Mr Rashid said he 'wholly condemns racism in all its forms, wherever it rears its ugly head'.
He added: "Discrimination cannot be tolerated in any form and it is especially important that those in senior positions are prepared to take a stand against it.
"That includes the leader of the Conservative Party, the Prime Minister Theresa May.
"Racism in any form cannot be ignored.
"Islamophobia within the Conservative Party, or within any other community or organisation, must not be tolerated and an investigation must be opened immediately."
Warrington Conservatives did not wish to comment.
