FIRE crews were called to a rubbish fire in Fairfield yesterday, Wednesday.
One fire engine from Penketh and one from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident on Algernon Street at around 4.05pm, where they found a faulty extension lead had caused a large amount of rubbish to set fire in a back garden.
Crews used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze.
