A RESTAURANT has become the latest in Stockton Heath to have its plans for a roof terrace turned down.

Greek restaurant Olive Tree Brasserie, on London Road, submitted an application to Warrington Borough Council in February requesting permission to erect a 'lightweight enclosed roof terrace structure' to the first floor roof at the rear of the building.

If approved, the structure would have housed a fully retractable roof and full height sliding windows to the front of the terrace door.

The council turned the plans down on June 6, stating that the development would be 'bulky' and 'visually obtrusive'.

It said the proposed modern cladding and glazing would detract from the 'uniform and traditional elevations' and would be visible from public vantage points such as West Avenue and The Forge Shopping Centre.

Ego, based on Walton Road, won its bid for an outside area last year but Piccolino on London Road was refused its permission for an outdoor terrace back in 2016.

Eastern Revive on West Avenue was also refused permission in May.

Olive Tree Brasserie opened in the former Lloyds Bank building in March, and is the fourth restaurant in the chain after St Anne's, Preston and Chester.
