GOLDEN Square Shopping Centre will host a fun-filled day of activities to raise funds for Tim Parry Jonathan Ball Peace Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

The One Great Day event, which will take place on Saturday between 11am and 2pm, will feature a whole host of activities including photo sessions with special characters, dancing heads, arts and crafts, face painting and a cupcake shop.

Ian Cox, manager of Golden Square Shopping Centre, said: "One Great Day is a highlight in our calendar, and it’s a great start to the summer. Hosting an event like this is a really fun way to give something back to support the wonderful work of Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity which supports patients and families from across the UK.

"One Great Day is an event that has fantastic energy and brings our community together while raising money for charity. Families in the area get to enjoy a fun day out - and its all for a good cause."

One Great Day was established in 2014 and has so far raised more than £400,000 for 93 different children's charities along with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Golden Square is one of 140 shopping centres across the UK taking part throughout June to raise money for a number of great causes.

Michael Noe, trustee of One Great Day, added: "We are thrilled to have Golden Square as one of 140 shopping centres taking part this year, helping so many children’s health charities across the country. We are very grateful to CBRE, Montague Evans and Savills, our official corporate partners, for making this initiative possible.”

For shoppers to take part in Golden Square's fundraising activities on Saturday, donations will start from £1.
