HUNDREDS of football fans flocked to the town centre to watch England win in their opening World Cup game against Tunisia last night.
The Three Lions triumphed over their Group G rivals in Volgograd thanks to a brace from Harry Kane.
And all the action from the 2-1 win in Russia was beamed back onto a giant screen in the Old Market Place.
Additional seating will be installed in the area by Golden Square Shopping Centre ahead of England’s next game, against Panama at 1pm on Sunday, due to popular demand.

Shopping centre director Ian Cox said: “Like everyone else here tonight, I’m thrilled with England result.
“I’m also really pleased that so many people chose to watch the game here at the centre and enjoy the outdoor screen.
“We’ve arranged more seating for the rest of the tournament as tonight showed us what a huge draw for football fans the screen is going to be this summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone as we join together to enjoy watching England – hopefully – continue to do well in the tournament.”
