IT was a colourful affair when the Thelwall Rose Queen procession set off from the parish hall on Saturday.
Lola Coulton, 10, was crowned queen at the annual village celebration on Saturday.
She was joined by attendees Poppy Coulton, Lily Hanson, Kate Yarwood, Ava Fotherby Packer, Evie Leigh and Milijana Miseljic.
Lola stepped up to the crown, taking over the helm from last year’s retiring Rose Queen, Maddison Shaw, 12.
The procession theme this year was ‘Inn Names’ and started at Thewall Parish Hall on Bell Lane.
The crowning ceremony was followed by arena displays by bands, the Thelwall Morris Men and a dog show organised by Warrington Animal Welfare.
Stalls and sideshows this year included traditional fairground rides, a static birds of prey display, many old favourites including books, plants, sweet stalls, candles and gifts, plus donkey rides, crazy golf, sporting activities for children and a bungee-jump inflatable.
