WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones is writing to schools in her constituency to let them know they are eligible to apply for the International School Award.

Mrs Jones said: “The ISA allows schools to gain recognition for their international work as well as enabling teachers to become part of an online community of international educators.

“The award is free and suitable for all schools, no matter their level of international work.

“ The ISA is part of the British Council’s work in education and they provide free assistance to schools.

"Across the UK, more than 10,000 schools have been involved with one or more of the British council’s programmes over the past five years helping to provide the knowledge, skills and outlook our young people will need to live and work in the globalised economy."

The British Council works with a range of schools, further education and higher education institutions to encourage educational cooperation between the UK and other countries, bringing together to share expertise and innovation, enrich and improve teaching and learning and open up new opportunities across the world.

The deadline for applications is Sunday, July 15.
