A GRANDDAD who was exposed during a 'paedophile sting' has admitted engaging in sexual communication with a child.

Keith Strutt, of Derek Street, Howley, pleaded guilty to the charge at Warrington Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday.

Police have confirmed that officers were called to reports of an incident on the Riverside Retail Park at 3.20pm on Tuesday.

A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexualised communication with a child after he was confronted during a sting by a group of self-styled 'paedophile hunters'.

Members of Hunting 4 Justice live streamed the interaction on the group's Facebook account.

The footage, which lasts for around 45 minutes, has received more than 100,000 views in 48 hours.

All evidence, which was collected by the group, was handed over to detectives at Cheshire Police.

But the group have since released a warning about contacting Strutt's family following the sting.

Posting on Facebook, a spokesman said: "Everyone stop messaging Keith Strutt's family. His family are innocent - you should be ashamed of yourselves."

Strutt has subsequently been charged with engaging in sexual communication with a child.

He was remanded in police custody to appear before a the magistrates' court today, Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to the charge.

The 57-year-old will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on July 10 where he is expected to be sentenced for the offence.
