MEMBERS and volunteers from the South Lancs branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) are holding a pop-up stall at The Hub in The Centre at Birchwood Park.

The stall will provide information about MND, a fatal rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord by attacking the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work.

It kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis.

Volunteers will be on hand at the stall on Tuesday from 12pm until 2pm.

There will also be a free MND awareness film evening at The Auditorium in The Centre on global MND awareness day next Thursday, June 21, from 5.30pm onwards.

Guests can enjoy a free beer or glass of wine and even free popcorn and cinema snacks for the film.

Birchwood Park has agreed to light up some of their buildings in blue and orange, the colours of the MNDA.

The business park will be joining the likes of Blackpool Tower, the London Eye, The Kelpies in Falkirk and Southport Tower to recognise MND awareness day.
