A MAN was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the neck in Longford.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday officers were called to reports of an incident on Clough Avenue, Longford.
At the scene officers found that a 48-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck.
The man was taken to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool for treatment and has since been discharged say police.
Following enquiries, officers arrested a man and woman.
Matthew Kershaw, 50, and Joanne Sherratt, 48, have subsequently been charged with attempted murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.
The pair, both of Clough Avenue, appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court earlier today, Monday, where they were remanded in custody.
They are next due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, July 9.
