APPLETON Thorn Bawming Day returns to the village this Saturday.
The annual celebration will see children dance around the thorn tree, next to St Cross Church on Stretton Road, before decorating it with flowers and ribbons and singing the Bawming song.
Not only does the day offer residents something special to celebrate, but it also forms one of the main sources of fund raising for projects in the community including, the village choir and 1st Appleton Girl Guides.
There will also be the family-favourite fete held in the grounds of the Appleton Thorn Village Hall after the peformance, with a varied range of stalls and entertainment on offer, along with activities and refreshments throughout the day.
