A MAN from Warrington was taken to hospital in a 'serious condition' after a crash on the M6 in the early hours of this morning, Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the northbound side of the motorway between the junctions of 32 at Broughton and 33 in Lancaster at around 3.25am where they found a Renault Scenic car had crashed into the central reservation.

The 38-year-old driver was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

Sgt Steve Hardman of Lancashire Police said: “An investigation is underway following a serious collision on the M6.

“The driver of the vehicle is in a serious condition at hospital and my thoughts are with him at this time.

“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.”

The northbound section of the motorway was closed for more than four hours after the crash.
