A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital after a stabbing in Longford.
An investigation is ongoing after a 21-year-old man was assaulted at 3.30pm yesterday, Thursday, by the roundabout separating Northway and Howson Road in Longford.
The victim then walked to Fisher Avenue before being taken to Aintree Hospital with stab wounds.
He is currently in a critical but stable condition.
Cheshire Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of the area around that time which may help with the investigation to get in touch.
DS Alison Howarth said: “I would like to reassure residents that this appears to be an isolated incident.
"Officers remain in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.
“Our investigation is in the early stages and enquiries are ongoing.
“I urge anyone who witnessed the incident, which we believe involved a group of males, has dashcam footage of it or saw anything suspicious in the area around that time to call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 73389, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
