A HOUSING developer has announced plans to open a factory in Warrington at the start of next year.

Countryside Properties confirmed it has signed a lease for a 130,000 sq ft site, which the Warrington Guardian understands to be on Omega.

Once in operation, it is due to serve the firm's northern and West Midlands regions with timber frame, with total set-up costs believed to be in the region of £5 million to £6 million.

Chief executive Ian Sutcliffe said: "We continue to deliver our strong organic growth trajectory with robust trading in all regions.

"With continued strong growth in partnerships and improved efficiency and returns in the house-building division, we remain confident of maintaining our sector leading growth over the medium term."

The firm said it plans to open the site in January 2019, although it is yet to officially confirm the location.

However, it will be making a further announcement 'shortly'.
