AN inseparable couple from Paddington who met when they were teenagers will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary next month.

Eighty-year-old Alf Minshull met his wife Ann, 78, at the Liberal Club, previously on Bewsey Street, in 1956.

After walking her home from the dance hall, and a number of dates later, the pair married at St Elphin's Parish Church on June 14, 1958.

"They have been inseparable ever since," said their youngest daughter Cath Pinnington.

"They have four children, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and they love spending time with their families. We are all travelling to Gibraltar for the wedding of their granddaughter Nikki on Saturday.

"They love getting together with friends at The Woolston Legion and still love to dance like when they met."

The couple, who have lived in Paddington all their married life, were treated to a surprise limousine ride and meal at The Green Dragon in Lymm by their children Joy, Andrew, Jane and Cath earlier this month to celebrate.

Alf, who worked as a joiner before becoming an industrial relations manager, also celebrated his 80th birthday at the beginning of May.

On their marriage, the pair said: "The key to a long lasting, loving marriage is to be best friends and to be there for each other through the good and the bad.

"Our tip is have fun, laugh and live life to the full. We love our holidays and spending time with the family."
