THE Neighbourhood Festival site has begun to take shape on Victoria Park.

Work to build the festival's stages in the park started at 8am today, Wednesday, with construction set to take place daily until 8pm.

Sections of Victoria Park – including the car park and football fields – will be out of use for the public while work takes place.

The park will be fully cleared by Saturday, June 2.

Artists including Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, the Courteeners, the Coral, Editors, Blossoms and Reverend and the Makers will play at Neighbourhood Festival on May 26 and 27.

Acts will play from 12pm to 10.30pm on both days, with soundchecks also taking place from 10am.

Noise levels will also be tested between 5pm and 7pm on Friday, May 25.

Knutsford Road will be closed between 10.20pm and 11.20pm on both days of the event immediately following the event in order to allow attendees to leave the area safely.

A no waiting or loading order will be in place on Knutsford Road during the event to discourage attendees from being dropped off on the route, creating traffic.

Areas surrounding Victoria Park will available for residents only to park on, with each home receiving two passes each for their vehicles.

Any vehicle parked in restricted streets without a pass during these times is liable to receive a fine.

Parking is available to festivalgoers who pre-book at Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School and car parks in the town centre.

Residents who have not received their parking passes in the week leading up to the festival should email nbhdweekender@sjmconcerts.com.

A hotline - which will be manned from 12pm to 11pm - has also been set up for residents who experience issues, on 873090 or 873091.
