THE family of a former Premier League footballer have paid tribute to the dad-of-four who was 'well-loved by all who were fortunate to know him'.

Jlloyd Samuel was killed in a car crash near Lymm on Tuesday morning after ‘dropping his children off at school’.

The 37-year-old ex-Aston Villa and Bolton player died after his Range Rover was involved in a collision with a van on West Lane near Costcutter at 7.50am.

Witnesses reported how members of the public rushed to try to rescue the footballer after his car burst into flames.

Police later confirmed that the footballer, who had most recently been manager of non-league side Egerton, died at the scene.
