THE Halliwell Jones Stadium will host a Guinness World Record attempt next month.

Warrington Wolves, North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, State of Mind and Offload have teamed up in a bid to hold the world’s largest mental health awareness session on Wednesday, June 6.

Residents are wanted to help break the record, with a target of 688 attendees set by the current holders during a session in India earlier this year.

Wire chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick said: “Warrington Wolves are completely behind this world record attempt and look to promote positive mental fitness at every opportunity for all our staff and supporters.”

A number of current and former rugby league players will share their experiences during the talk, which will be led by Dr Phil Cooper.

The NWBH nurse consultant said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of mental fitness and have a great time in a local rugby league team’s stadium, and we hope as many people as possible can join us to help us make history by smashing this exciting world record.

Beginning at 6pm, the session will last for 35 minutes – with entertainment from 5pm.

Emma Goldsmith, who coordinates the Offload mental health programme, added: “It’s going to be a great night, taking part in a world record attempt while helping people learn more about mental health issues in an interactive session in a great location.”
