RESIDENTS in Stockton Heath are being invited to find out more about how they can get involved in a range of community activities.

Sandy Lane Community Centre is hosting an open day on Thursday to provide people with information about local opportunities that can help contribute to happier, healthier and fitter lives.

Organised by Warrington Borough Council's south neighbourhood team, the event will give people the chance to discover the community centre and the various clubs and activities it hosts, from lunch clubs to coffee mornings.

Council partners including Cheshire Police, Trading Standards and the Wellbeing Service will also be on hand to answer questions.

Cllr Tony Higgins, Warrington Borough Council's executive board member for leisure and community, said: "I'm delighted that communities in south Warrington are being given this fantastic opportunity to find out what's going on in their local community to improve their wellbeing.

"It is also very much appreciated when residents come together to find local solutions to local problems. I look forward to hearing about their activity over the coming months and beyond."

The Sandy Lane Community Centre open day takes place on Thursday from 2pm.
