RESIDENTS have been praised for their 'patience' following the 'complex' eviction of travellers from a Penketh park.
Seven caravans and associated vehicles vacated Withinshaw Recreation Ground, off Widnes Road, at around 7pm on Thursday.
Penketh parish councillor Dale Solan said discussions are due to take place over putting measures in place to prevent further encampments.
He added: "Thank you to all involved for a speedy resolution and to most of the residents for their patience.
"Traveller evictions are quite complex and have to be undertaken within the guidance of the law.
"The parish council will now put in place a temporary solution to prevent any recurrence and will discuss the steps for a more permanent solution to prevent any further breaches.
"With the parish council working together with other agencies, we have reduced the risk of a longer-term stay."
