Latchford Albion A 46 Rylands Sharks 10

LATCHFORD Albion A celebrated a ‘derby’ victory on Saturday as they recovered from a poor start to comfortably see off neighbours Rylands.

It was the Sharks who flew out of the traps, racing into a 10-point lead after 15 minutes through tries from Dan Banner and Dave Walker plus one conversion from Chris Meacock.

However, that was as good as it got for the Gorsey Lane side as Albion proceeded to run riot.

Adam Wadsworth and Ste Arnold tries and an Anton Mason goal pulled them level at the break before they assumed control in the second half.

From the very first tackle, Damian Lyon rampaged through tackles to score a superb solo effort.

Joe Clarke then won the race to touch down a Darren Hill grubber kick before Chris Griffiths scored from a set scrum move.

Arnold’s second try of the game was sandwiched between efforts from Mal Mason and Rudi Stewart to seal Latchford’s victory, with Anton Mason converting all six of the hosts’ second-half tries.
