CELEBRATIONS are being planned across Warrington to mark the royal wedding.

Prince Harry is to marry Meghan Markle on Saturday, May 19 and events are being held across town.

Here is our pick of four ways to celebrate

  • The Friends of St Elphins Park are taking over The Ring O Bells Pub for a day of afternoon tea and celebrations.

The group will be serving sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee all day on May 19 at the newly refurbished Church Street pub, with all profits going towards supporting the community.

There will also be a line-up of live music from The Ring O Bells Jammers and band, Expiry Date with live sport and a children’s bouncy castle.

Tickets are £3 which will include two sandwiches and slice of cake and can be bought on the day.

For more information find Ring O Bells on Facebook.

  • The Olive Tree Community Centre is hosting an event on May 19 at Penketh Methodist Church.

The family day will start from 10am and includes stalls, children’s games and area and the wedding will be broadcasted on a big screen.

A cafe will be open serving refreshments along with the various stalls.

The day will be raising money for Christian Aid.

  • Or celebrate a day early at a royal afternoon tea organised by Home-Start Warrington.

It will be at Institution Bar on Palmyra Square on Friday, May 18 from 12.30pm to 3pm.

Everyone is welcome. Tickets are £10 and include homemade cakes provided by Lymm WI..

All funds raised will help support families in need. For tickets call 652320 or 576100.

  • Why not organise your own party?

Two roads in Warrington have applied to the council for permission to host street parties on the day of the royal wedding.

Whitefield Road in Stockton Heath and York Drive in Grappenhall have both displayed an interest in celebrating Harry and Megan’s special day on May 19.
